Smell of Summer

I like how when my downstairs neighbor tends his tomatoes, which happen to reside right outside my apartments windows, I smell their pollen.

I love the smell of tomato plants. My poor little guys this year, however, have been blown over, blown away, and, in one case, blown right out of the pot this monsoon season. I have a big tomato plant that is the first one I've ever grown to have absolutely NO flowers on it. Maybe they blew away, lol.

No flowers, no pollen, no tomatoes.

We had one big storm that blew the tomatoes right off the plant! I think I'd better concentrate on trying to grow cactus here!

ah, clair. so sad. what a disaster for your tomatoes! maybe if there is not another tornado, you can raise them inside? if its hot there always, and lots of sun, they'd probably do ok.

fresh tomatoes do smell good :) we actually have two potted plants out back that jeremy started, they have tomatoes on them, but they aren't turning, I'm afraid the lack of sun is going to leave us with a bunch of green tomatoes :(
